A Bit About Me

The Ecuador Traveler Health Declaration's primary purpose is to protect non-residential visitors from Ecuadorian soil when they land at an Ecuadorian airport. To be able to have a health checkup, Ecuador Traveler Health Declaration requires travellers to disclose their current health and whereabouts. This is an important part of choosing Ecuador travel insurance. This policy will also outline the circumstances in which an emergency treatment plan is required for an injury or illness, and how it will pay for.

The policy will provide details about the available organizations to perform emergency treatment procedures. The Ecuadorian National Doctor's Office is one of the most trusted and responsive medical service providers in the country. The doctor will also coordinate with the relevant agencies, including the International Health Organization and Red Cross, to make sure that your current health conditions are adequately covered. It is important to note that the basic coverage in the Ecuador traveler health declaration is intended only for patients that are resident in the country. International travel should not affect your health care coverage in any way.

Treatment for emergencies will vary depending on when you arrive in Quito, as will the care that is covered. The Ecuadorian government offers a comprehensive travel medical program. It is available at various embassies across the country as well as at the Ecuadorian Consul-General or wherever you may be traveling to in your travels. If you are travelling to Quito via another country, the health care policy that comes with your originating country should be adequate for treatment in Ecuador. For instance, if you were travelling from the United Kingdom, you would receive a British visa upon arrival at the British embassy, and then the British Embassy would take care of arranging hospital treatment should you become ill during your trip.

Your travel policy will also detail whether the medical treatment that is covered will be covered for emergency conditions only. There are several situations where this might apply. The policy should cover you if you are seriously ill or injures while on vacation and you seek treatment outside Quito.

A travel medical policy may not include emergency healthcare coverage. Sometimes, the coverage provided for emergencies is also offered outside of Quito, and included in a separate policy. Pre-existing conditions or coverage that covers specific conditions you have could be covered. It might also cover you for pre-existing conditions that you might have while traveling outside of Quito.

Make sure you carefully read the details of any travel policy before you purchase. Check to see how the policy limits and conditions work, and what the financial penalties are for cancelling the policy. Also, read through the terms and conditions again to make sure you understand what you are agreeing to, as well as the fine print. Before you sign up for a travel insurance policy, make sure you are comfortable with the terms and agree to them.
